I used to call this concept "storytelling," but that wasn't specific enough. Nonprofits will use the word storytelling to describe anything from a fundraising email to a board meeting.

I needed a term to describe the specific tactic of producing stories for audience consumption — films, books, blogs, and social content — and how those products can drive results better than anything else.
